In partnership with Institut Français d’Egypte we are happy to announce the launch of “Villa Champollion” Program for French Artist Residencies in Egypt. Villa Champollion is a 3 month artist residency at Townhouse, fully funded by the Institut Français d’Egypte. This includes, flight, accommodation, studio and per diem. The residency starts on the 1st of February till the 30th of April 2019.

Application Guidelines

• • To apply, you must be a French National or or French Resident.

• • Only applications in English will be accepted.

• • Application submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

• • Only chosen applicants will be contacted directly.

  • Artists of all disciplines can apply; sound, video, painting, sculpture, digital art, installation etc.

  • Letter of Intent; In one page or less, a brief description of applicant’s work or project to be completed while in residence and why are you interested in a Residency at Townhouse? 

How to Apply

Fill out the Application Form, You will be required to upload the following:

• • Curriculum Vitae

• • Artist Statement; In one page or less, description of the applicant’s creative work, process, technique, and conceptual development.

• • Portfolio; A minimum of ten images of your work created within the last five years. All the images must be in one pdf. Please include a list with the image number, title, size, medium, and date of work. If you have video or filmworks, add a link to the work with a screenshot image.

  • Letter of Intent; In one page or less, a brief description of applicant’s work or project to be completed while in residence and why are you interested in a Residency at Townhouse?
