Mai Al Shazly is a Cairo based visual artist working with photography, video, and installation. Her work has been shown in several group exhibitions in London, USA and Pairs, most recently she has been exhibited her work as part of Paris Biennale De Photographes Du Monde Arabe Contemporain 2019, and has been nominated for artist residence at Switzerland and showing her work during Verzasca Foto Festival 2018, exhibiting her collective work at Biennale Africaine de la photographie at BAMAKO, receiving both a video art and experimental film production award through Goethe Institut Kairo in collaboration with Contemporary Image Collective, as well as a production funding grant through the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia Cairo(2016).

In her current research “Accumulations “, it shows the colonial cultural legacies and its relationship to the memory, and the role of trading in this especially the pottery trading.
